    August 2010

 Please note change of date:

The KLAMC Late Summer Fly-In
will now take place on
Sunday October 3rd 2010

and not
Sunday 26th September 2010 as previously stated.

So this is flying 24/7 at Roydon....if you can see well after dark!

Meanwhile ... flying from another field in daylight this time!

Polikarpov I-16 Rata

In service the Rata or Mosca (Fly) could be a formidable opponent, as some German airmen found to their cost - if they could not bring enemy bombers down by conventional means, some Russian pilots would attempt to ram their adversaries which invariably resulted in the loss of both aircraft involved. Dan, I trust this is not the tactic used in friendly 'Combat' flying. Great flying!

Here's an alternative landing technique for the Polikarpov I-16 ! Cooler than a cornfield!
