King's Lynn Aero Model Club Flying Sites
KLAMC benifits from a choice of Flying Fields - both green field sites are well away from buildings and human habitation. However there is plenty of interesting wildlife. Buzzards to skylarks and a huge variety of flora and fauna.
Be careful - Roydon is South Wootton - Wootton Marsh site is North Wooton.
Roydon Flying Field
This is the club's main flying field. It is a great flying site situated at the top of Roydon Common - a place of natural beauty! It is available for flying 365 days of the year to all KLAFC members. This is easy to find and is situated off the A148 to Fakenham road. Take the first turn on the right down the Lynn Road towards Roydon & Hillington. Travel about 1/4 mile down this road and then turn first right and again immediately right through iron gate and onto an unmade track.
Ignore the pin location on map - this is the nearest hostelry - Best Western Hotel - Knight's Hill, South Wootton, King's Lynn, Norfolk. PE30 3HQ

Beware gate is locked shut if no members are flying!
Wootton Marsh Flying Field
You will be glad to learn that this is not a marshy, boggy site but a really nice open location with no major obstacles to fly into! So this is the ideal place for learning and honing your flying skills. Training is provided on Tuesday nights from May 1st until end of September, when light fades fast!
This site is slightly more difficult to find. Unless there are signs of activity across the field, you could easily miss it! However, here is a map of the area with it's location.
The blue pin locates the Red Cat Hotel, Station Rd, North Wootton, King's Lynn, PE30 www.redcathotel.com Click on the map below for more detail.
As you can see, it's in the middle of nowhere! The good news is that if you can find the RED CAT HOTEL, you are close but go straight past this refreshing landmark - reward yourself with a drink after flying! Reduce your speed and be aware of the possibility of meeting the occasional horse and rider. Follow the road through wooded area and up and over a dog leg bridge. Carry on to 'T' junction and turn to right. Go along this straight rural road past an agricultural yard to a left-hand bend. Drive short stretch up to a metal gate facing you before next bend to right. You may have to look carefully for the gate if it is open!
Drive through gate if open and along track to a bridge. You should see the Flying Field on the LEFT down a steep slope - drive very slowly and with caution to preserve the undercarriage and exhaust of your vehicle!
